I rimedi ai danni di XCP

L'autunno scorso Sony BMG produsse dei CD con un sistema anti-copia dannoso. Dopo l'ammissione di colpa i rimedi: sostituzione, compensi e musica online gratuita.

Chi ha comperato un CD di Sony BMG (in USA) con il bislacco DRM potrà sostituire le proprie copie con versioni prive di DRM, oltre a poter adoperare un patch che rimuova il software dai propri computer, ricevere un rimborso di 7,50 dollari e la possibilità di scaricare da uno a tre brani digitale gratuitamente, da Connect, Wal-Mart, F.Y.E. o iTunes Music Store.

XCP – eXtended Copy Protection era il DRM (ora è sparito dal sito) che, senza informare adeguatamente l'utente, si installava sui computer creando danni e cancellazione di file.

C'è tempo fino al 31 dicembre 2006 per ottenere la ricompensa.
